This morning started like any normal day, but it quickly became a moment of worry for our little rescue cat, Wheel.
When I woke up, I noticed that Wheel had vomited three times. At first, I thought maybe he had eaten something wrong or had a small stomach problem. But after I went out to buy breakfast and came back home, I found another large puddle of vomit on the bed.
What worried me the most was that it was not normal food or hairball vomit — it was mostly clear liquid, which made me feel that something was not right.
I immediately decided to take Wheel to the veterinarian.
The surprising thing is that Wheel is still incredibly active and playful. If you didn’t know he was sick, you probably wouldn’t be able to tell at all. He is still the same sweet little guy, full of curiosity and energy. 🐾
At the animal hospital, Wheel surprised me by being incredibly calm and cooperative.
During the examination, he stayed still and allowed the veterinarian to check him carefully.
Even though he was feeling uncomfortable, this little guy was so brave.
After the examination and tests, the veterinarian confirmed that Wheel had a feline coronavirus infection.
The vet explained that it was likely an infection he had picked up during his time living as a stray cat.
Before coming into our care, Wheel had to survive outside, facing many unknown dangers and health challenges. We don’t know exactly what happened during that time, but we are grateful that he is now in a safe place where he can receive treatment and care.
Because of his condition, we decided to arrange five days of hospitalization so Wheel could receive professional care, monitoring, and treatment.
Seeing him stay at the hospital made my heart hurt. He is such a sweet little cat, and it’s difficult to see him feeling unwell.
But we believe that with proper care, patience, and love, Wheel will recover and return to his happy self.
